Wanda Osiris (Anna Menzio)
Rome 1905-Milan 1994. Italian revue actress, singer and showgirl from the ’30s to the ’50s. In 1940 in Milan she emerged from a perfume box in Tutte Donne; in 1944 in Rome she performed for the first time with Carlo Dapporto, in Che succede a Copacabana, and in 1945 in L’isola delle sirene and La donna e il diavolo. Back in Milan after the Liberation, again with Dapporto as the queen of variety shows. In 1946 with Garinei and Giovannini’s theatre company. Si stava meglio domani and Domani è sempre domenica, the first Italian revue in which Wandissima emerged from a shell, like Venus. In the late ’40s, Osiris became the queen of the salons and of the Teatro Lirico.
