Umberto Boccioni

Reggio Calabria 1882-Chievo 1916. A leading Futurist painter and sculptor. In Milan (where his mother and sister lived) from 1907, frequented the Divisionists and – with Marinetti, Carrà, Balla and others – he drafted the Futurist Manifesto (1910). Many of his important works (such as Riot in the Galleria) are devoted to Milan.
