Milan 1891-Milan 1960. Italian entrepreneur and philanthropist. Active in the jewellery industry and trade, he worked on social initiatives and vocational training. In the 1950s he took over a small pharmaceutical industry and began to work in it himself. In contact with scholars from the Institute of Pharmacology at the University of Milan. In his will, he bequeathed a part of his assets to the University of Milan to establish a pharmacological research centre, which became today’s Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research.
