Herbert Kilpin

Nottingham 1870-Milan 1916. A British footballer with the Internazionale Torino, co-founder, first captain and coach of AC Milan. He started his career in Notts Olympic and then St Andrews, in which he was indifferently defender or midfielder. In early 1898, Kilpin left Turin and settled in Milan. On 16 December 1899, with a group of Italian members of the Mediolanum Society for Physical Education, he founded the Milan Cricket and Football Club. He was the Milanese club’s first coach, first captain and first goal scorer.
