Giulio Natta

Porto Maurizio (Imperia) 1903–Bergamo 1979. A chemical engineer, after teaching for two years in Pavia, Rome and Turin, he directed the Institute of Industrial Chemistry at the Politecnico University of Milan, studying polymers with crystalline structures (fundamental for applications using plastics). Nobel Laureate in Chemistry in 1963 for his discovery of Ziegler-Natta catalysts.
