Giorgio Scerbanenco

Kiev 1911-Milan 1969. Ukrainian writer and journalist but of an Italian mother, in Italy as a boy (first in Rome and then Milan) after his father was killed in the Russian Revolution. He did not study but, after several jobs, entered publishing. From proof-reader to editor and ultimately writer. He is considered to be the master of all Italian detective-story writers, with a large number of works (short stories, novels and now anthologies), winning Italian and international honours.
