San Zenone Po (Pavia) 1919-Codogno 1992. One of the greatest Italian sports journalists of the twentieth century. At 15 he played soccer in the “Milan boys squad”, and at 16 wrote about soccer. At 18, he was hired by Guerin Sportivo. Graduated in Political Science in Pavia in 1943. From Fascist to partisan: first paratrooper in the Folgore, then Resistance fighter in the Brigate Garibaldi. From 1945 with the Gazzetta dello Sport, editor-in-chief from 1949. Leading contributor to Il Giorno and La Repubblica. A highly original style, author of many books.
