Ferrara 1852-Lavagna 1920. From Ferrara to Milan in 1876 to attend the Accademia di Brera. In contact with the Scapigliatura movement but, from 1821, took up Divisionism and themes from the Symbolists. He exhibited in Paris, Venice, Genoa and Milan in the first two decades of the century. His most important works include La maternità (1890), Madonna dei gigli (1893) and Re sole (1900).
