Milan 1913-Raffadali 1974. The grandson of Giacomo Matteotti, he studied design, graphic design, painting and photography. First exhibition at La Triennale in 1940. A Communist Party member in the Resistance, he was close to Elio Vittorini and became the graphic artist for Il Politecnico magazine. In Mexico from ’46 to ’48, he returned to Milan and taught at the Rinascita School of Graphics, one of the pioneers of the Umanitaria. Worked for leading trade magazines and political newspapers (L’Unità), and for Pirelli and Olivetti. Art director of the Rinascente.
